so it goes, one thing to the next, life is full of transitions. i just got back from my brothers wedding in nebraska and now its time to head out to camp. for some reason getting ready for camp i've been really nervous. i think it mostly has to do with me not knowing much about spring hill, i've never been there. i'm not sure what my living quarters are like orwhat my job is going to entail, all this uncertainty is driving me nuts. but tomorrow i leave to spend a day or two in grand rapids and from there the journey begins. don't get me wrong, i am very excited. i love to meet new people, working with kids should be fun and it will be good to get out of marion for the summer. It will also be time for me to grow. An e-mail from spring hill said this
So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.
~The Message from Romans 12
When i read that passage from romans and think about my life... i get worried. I have become well adjusted to this culture. its a big challenge to be in the world but not of it. something i struggle with. but for a little while i will somewhere where my everyday ordinary life will be a little bit different than normal, and with God helping me, hopefully i will be changed from the inside out. pray for me as i'm on this journey
